Mallory Whitty loves helping people save money as a franchisee

Why did you become a franchisee?
A long time friend and mentor was a franchisee at the time and as soon as she explained the concept, I fell in love. The opportunity to help people sell their house and save a ton of money is easy to get behind. The company culture is definitely ‘work hard and play hard’ and we bring that dedication and excitement to each and every customer.

How did you learn about your franchise and what made you choose it?
My mentor recommended that I enter a contest on Dragon’s Den to be awarded a franchise. While I unfortunately didn’t win, I already had my sights set on becoming a franchise owner, so I took matters into my own hands and bought in anyway. I was excited to be a small business owner helping people in such a big way in my community.

What do you love most about being a franchisee?
I love interacting with customers the most. Whether that’s explaining our system at a kitchen table or jumping for joy in front of their sold sign, that feeling is priceless. When a client tells me what they’re going to do with the money they saved – that’s the best part.

What are your top three tips for success?
Hard work matters. Even though you’re buying a franchise with 20 years experience and a wealth of knowledge and support from coast-to-coast, you need to be willing to roll up your sleeves and put in the time. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but it will happen if you’re dedicated. Choose something you’re passionate about and then it won’t feel like work at all!
